The American conservative magazine American Conservative announced that it will launch a new, online platform in cooperation with the Philippines entertainment industry, The New York Times reported.
The website will be known as Philippine-themed, which the magazine said will feature Filipino artists, comedians, writers, actors, and filmmakers.
The move comes as the Philippine government has been working to combat terrorism and counter cyber attacks.
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has been blamed by some for the Philippines’ political and economic woes.
He has blamed the country’s cyber attacks on foreign adversaries and has vowed to pursue the fight against terrorism.
The Philippine government launched an anti-terrorism campaign in the aftermath of the November 12, 2017, Paris terror attacks, which killed 130 people.
Duterte’s administration has vowed that it would continue to crack down on illegal activities and cyber crimes, which have contributed to poverty, unemployment, and violence.
The US has also been concerned about the Philippines, particularly its cyber security.
Last month, US President Donald Trump warned that “we will be taking out their computers” if they do not cooperate with his efforts to fight terrorism.
