Farmhouse theater producer, owner and designer Tom Scholz said Wednesday that the new facility, to be built at the site of the former Farmers Market in the city of San Antonio, will offer “a great place for people of all ages to enjoy a little bit of home theater.”
“The idea of creating this facility to be a place for a family to come together and have a meal together was something that really resonated with us and the community, and it’s something that we felt we could really bring to fruition,” he said.
“It’s a great way to celebrate family, to celebrate people, and to celebrate life.
“When I see the Farmhouse, it’s just a really special place, and we’re very excited about that.” “
The new theater will be built on the former site of a food hall, and will feature a 50,000-square-foot space for the production of live entertainment, Scholzz said. “

The new theater will be built on the former site of a food hall, and will feature a 50,000-square-foot space for the production of live entertainment, Scholzz said.
Scholzes said the project is being built on a $1 million budget, and the facility will be open for the first time in 2019.
“I know this will be quite a challenge to put together, but we’re doing it because we want to bring something to San Antonio,” he added.
“We love San Antonio.
We love the city, and this will bring something new to the city that we love.”
The Farm House is located at 912 W. Fourth St., which is adjacent to the former San Antonio Public Library.
The San Antonio Water Department is providing a half-million dollars in public funds to help build the new theater.
The building is expected to open to the public in 2019, and Scholzo said it will likely be in the neighborhood of 20,000 seats.
He said the theater will feature several different stages, including a children’s theater and an adult theater.
He added that the venue will be equipped with sound for sound effects.
The restaurant is expected not to have any impact on the current food hall.
Schulz said he is also developing plans to open the theater to the general public and that it will open as a food center for a future event.
The farmhouse will not be the only new venue planned in San Antonio this year.
The new Farmhouse Theater will also be located at the new Farmers Market on the site at 1855 N. Main St., and a second location will be planned at the former Cajun Market in Northtown, Schulzz said, and a third location at the Riverwalk Community Market.
“There’s a lot of new things happening in San Antonians life right now, and these new venues will provide a lot more space and a lot less seating,” Scholss said.
He pointed to the upcoming opening of a new farmhouse restaurant and the launch of a second, more expansive facility in the Mission Valley area of San Marcos.
The FarmHouse will be the largest farmhouse in the San Antonio area, with an estimated capacity of 1,000 people, Schulz said.
The original Farmhouse is a historic building in San Marcos that was built in the 1880s and was the largest structure in San Jose.
It opened in 1928 as the largest public housing development in San Mateo County.
